National Apprenticeship Week 2025

This National Apprenticeship Week we are shining the spotlight on our apprentices and have asked them to send over their thoughts and experiences of their apprenticeships journeys so far.

Mollie - Head of Systems & Operations

Senior Leader Level 7 Apprenticeship

“I think as a summary being able to do the masters in leadership/management on the job really supports you putting your learning into practice. It has given me more confidence around highlighting areas where I already use particular models taught in class whereas before I would not know there are models out there in line with my style of leadership. I am a type of person that likes to put theory into practice as this allows me to digest and learn better. Having YHP support me through the apprenticeship with YHP’s COO actively being part of my tripartite reviews with my tutor and finding ways to put my learning into practice has been a huge support to my learning and development.”

Amy - Children & Young People’s Social Prescriber Apprentice

“I started my apprenticeship at 30, which is older than most people, but it turned out to be one of the best choices I’ve made. It’s helped me meet new people, learn practical skills, and start a career I really enjoy.”

Maddie - Administrative Assistant

Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship

“Before joining YHP in July 2023, I studied at South Hunsley Sixth Form College doing 3 A- Levels of Sociology, Psychology and a Cambridge Technical certificate in Business. I started here as an administrative assistant and in the January of 2024, I started my Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship. I decided I wanted to do a business administration apprenticeship to develop what I had learnt already through my A-Level in business, I aspire to one day be in a managerial role and thought developing my knowledge around business admin may help me to get there one day. Throughout the apprenticeship I have learnt about a variety of different topics such as internal and external stakeholders, regulations and laws, policies and decision making. I am now nearing the end of my apprenticeship, with only the end of a project write up left to do, I aim to be finished in March 2025.”
