Yorkshire Health Partners takes over day-to-day running of Market Weighton Surgery
Yorkshire Health Partners Ltd (YHP) has officially taken over the day-to-day running of Market Weighton Surgery, marking an exciting new chapter for the practice and its patients.
From 1 October, YHP will be responsible for the operational management and delivery of primary care services at the surgery, working closely with the existing practice team to ensure patients continue to receive high-quality, safe and accessible care.
Market Weighton Surgery is an important part of the local community and, as a practice located at the centre of the Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (HNY ICB) area, provides an important opportunity to strengthen local primary care and develop new ways of working.
YHP is a local GP federation and primary care organisation, supporting practices and primary care teams across East Yorkshire. Its approach is focused on working with practices, clinicians and local partners to strengthen primary care and ensure services remain responsive to the needs of local communities.
The immediate priority for YHP is to ensure a smooth transition for patients and staff, maintaining continuity of care while working with the practice team to identify opportunities for further development.
Over time, YHP will work with staff, patients, the Patient Participation Group (PPG), local practices and wider health and care partners to build on the strengths of Market Weighton Surgery and support its continued development.
Dr Hisham Nobeebaccus, Yorkshire Health Partners Chair, said:
“We are delighted to be taking on the day-to-day running of Market Weighton Surgery and are very pleased to be working with the existing team and the local community.
Our immediate focus is on ensuring a smooth transition and maintaining the high-quality care that patients know and value. Market Weighton is an important practice within East Yorkshire, and we see real opportunities to build on the excellent work already taking place and further develop the services available to patients.
As a local organisation, we are committed to keeping primary care provision rooted within our communities and working closely with our practices, patients and wider partners to make sure services meet local needs.”
Patients should continue to access the surgery in the usual way and there is no need for patients to take any action as a result of the change in day-to-day management.
YHP looks forward to working with the Market Weighton team, patients and local partners as the practice begins this next chapter.
