What is the Acute Respiratory Infection Hub?

The ARI Hub offers patients who have an acute respiratory infection / chronic condition (such as Asthma or COPD) an appointment with a GP or ACP to assess their condition and treat as required.
Please note, the ARI Hub is open to Driffield patients only.

Who can be referred?

The Hub is available to patients who are registered at the Park Surgery, Driffield and The Driffield Medical Centre.
Contact your GP or NHS 111 to get an appointment with this service.

Opening Hours

The operating hours for the Acute Respiratory Hub are:
Monday - Friday 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm.


Self-help Information for respiratory infections

Symptoms:
- cough, sore throat
- sneezing, a stuffy or runny nose
- headaches, muscle aches
- breathlessness, tight chest or wheezing
- a high temperature or feeling generally unwell

Things you can do to ease these symptoms:
- Get plenty of rest
- Drinks lots of water to loosen up any mucus and make it easier to cough up
- Drink a hot lemon and honey drink to help soothe a cough (this is not suitable for babies under 1 year old)
- Gargle with warm salty water if you have a sore throat (children should not try this)
- Raise your head up while sleeping, use extra pillows to make breathing easier and clear your chest of mucus
- Use painkillers to bring down a fever and help ease a sore throat, headaches and muscle pain
